Oh, my god, this is awesome Sonic is back in a brand new adventure Yay Here we go Yes With an. Here are five they contributed to outside of The Go-Gos. Most current-gen AAA games are priced between $60 and $70 due to enhanced graphics, controls, and the engines they run on, but some have balked at Frontiers’ price tag not only because it's "too expensive," but because they can't remember the last time a Sonic game cost that much. This looks like an entirely brand new game. It's a big gamble to go all in on, but also a sore point for some Sonic fans. In fact, Sega is so sure about Sonic Frontiers that it's pricing the game at $60 - or in the case of the Digital Deluxe Edition, $70 - and putting it in direct competition with God of War: Ragnarok and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in November. Hell, I'm feeling more confident about this game than I ever felt for some of its predecessors. With the release of his debut album Sonic Poems, Parisian multi-instrumentalist Lewis OfMan has carved out a wholly original space in the synth-pop scene. Now the game is less than two months away from release, and with the reveal of four more trailers, two alternative rock songs taking us back to 2007 (Vandalize by One OK Rock and I'm Here by To Octavia's Merry Kirk-Holmes), and Super Sonic making his triumphant return at the Tokyo Game Show, Sega seems confident that it will be a big deal for the franchise. However, the song’s lyrics reflect the cultural obsession with fame and how it can lead to a loss of individuality. If we’re to take him at his word, this really is what life is like-alternately gliding in ecstasy and waging war on each passing thought, all while still making time for the everyday absurdity that falls in between. Sonic Youth has not revealed any specific inspiration behind Superstar. The onslaught of non sequiturs is chopped and layered against wafting disco, like the soundtrack to a mirrorball head-trip sequence in the Hollywood adaptation of his life. The Canadian songwriter’s spoken-word vocals are processed to sound like a montage of various Dan Bejars complimenting and contradicting one another, musing on art and existence or cracking an “I barely know her!” joke while pondering the meaning of love. “Speaking of lifelike, this is what life’s like,” Dan Bejar declares midway through “June,” a gloriously surreal destination following three decades of journeying into the heart of his subconscious. ![]()
